AACI, a voluntary, non-profit organization, was founded in 1951 to aid North
American immigrants in acclimating to Israeli society. AACI operates through
five offices which provide a wide range of programs and services. The services AACI
provides include:
- Individual and group klitah (absorption) counseling
- housing and emergency loans
- social and cultural programs
Pre-aliyah services include information on absorption and employment as well as
assistance during pilot trips. In addition, AACI offers its members a range of benefits,
including legal and psychological referral services.
AACI membership is open to North Americans and other English speakers residing
in Israel. New Olim are granted an initial consultation and a special membership
package.
Americans and Canadians (living in America and Canada) may become overseas associates.
North American associate memberships starts from $50. All US checks made out to American
Friends of AACI are eligible for income tax receipts.
